transit engine needed but where from????
my mates one has just died so he is after another lump. its a 2.5 diesel non turbo. its not the banana one if that makes sense. but where can i start looking for one for him??

there pretty much all the same, just the mounts differ, but they all fit, so a breakers yard
ford aint really changed the 2.5 diesel in 30 years, just redeveloped it

All Transits from Mk3 onwards had diret injection IIRC. Just the Mk2 had the York scrap in it which is the old version of the DI.

my mates is a n reg if that helps.i found him one on ebay but it said banana type and when i told him he said it wasnt the same as his.
if he had just put some oil in it this morning when the lite had come on (it leaked oil all the time ) the thing wouldnt have started knockin like hell and would have probably started again . we even tryed tow starting it slowy but i think its gone to engine heaven !!!!

thanks daz, thats why i said there all pretty much the same, they all fit each other but the mounts differ, never thought about the other side of things though, just know loads of my fellow pikeys are robbing new transit diesel engines for there ones
