For those of you that have chinese lettering as a tattoo....
...or anyone that actually knows how to write in chinese.... 
apparently there is no chinese 'alphabet' like ours where there are individual lettering, as each word has a meaning, represented as a symbol......
so how can someone write out someones name in chinese then?? as chinese names are all made up of symbols, representing the family, etc and not really called 'KEEF'
anyone shed any light on this one? or am i going to have to wait until my litte bum cheeks get brasaned with the names of my parents??

i have Beautiful Princess in Chineses (above my daughters name) and have a Latin Tattoo.
I paid a professional company to translate what i wanted. And then got them checked.

you dont you muppet, its not as stright forward as that, there actually is a alphabet of sorts, you can find on the net every letter of our alphabet in chinese, so you could bodge a name, but if i was to get any more done i would get it done by someone who knows how to write in chinese and the cos i dont trust anybody i would get that checked

my mates brother had one done and one night out he got laughed at... well in total 3 nights out by different people. i cant remember what he was meant to have written but he had...

The Chinese is masivley complicated. While they do have "pictograms" to represent a word, they can also represent a particular "sound" in exactly the same why our alphabet does.
So they can use a group of pictograms to represent a name.
