Default 3doors on split rims, any pics?

I can’t decide what wheels to put on my 3door.. I am going to try my comps but as they are et30 I think I will have clearance problems. If I do I want a set of split rims but would like to see some different styles if poss. Any peeps have any pics of any?

If you mail them to me if you can’t post I will put them up in this thread

john.g.bennett@ntlworld.com

Cheers

John

As much as i want your comps mate, stick with them.

Split rims look nice on 3drs, but moonstone & white comps look even better

I really like the dish on Stu's ones, much more dish than the comp CXN's. Apparantly the biggets outer lip comp do are 2" for the rear, and 1.5" for front.

not hi-jacking the post or anything, but whats the biggest outer rim size you can get on a 3dr in 17" without loads of modifying (maybe a tiny bit of arch or something?) as the ones on stu's look massive.

Not sure what you mean there Boxxer but an 8J wheel as the biggest i would say on the rear, ideally a 7- 7.5 on the front.

basically, on the outer lip rim, compmotive say you can only fit a 1.5"rear, and a 1"front, but stu's look like his outer rims are pretty big if you see what i mean.
this is what compomotive sent me...

"On all models you will require judicial trimming of the plastic bodyfit to provide suitable wheel/tyre clearance.

The front of the car will take a 1" outer and the widest rear option for the rear will have a 1.5" outer. A 2" outer will require bodymods beyond the plastic bodykit.

Widest rear fitment is 9" with a 245/35 tyre. Front would suggest 7.5" with 215/40"

Any pics of those Stu? dont know them.

Boxx I have never heard of that outer rim measurement being used before.. It just depends on the ET number and the J (width) of the wheel.

Going to see how it goes Nick, I agree I do like them but im not prepared to cut anything as you can imagine. Im also not going down the coilover route again. I may get the two fronts machined down to an ET35 but its finding somewhere that can do it..

yeah mate!! but was a 215 tyre already!!

boxxer the plastic was all that needed trimming but with my 500 being a low number and in good condition I could not bring myself to do it!! have now got these on her!

And they fit and look great as well!!
