They are the 16" ford option wheels that were available at the same time as the car came out! so a bit of a period wheel as well!! they are single piece and very similair to standard apart from 16" and with a bit of a dish rim!!

So on the image splits, what was the rear rim lip size? approx? as they look pretty big compared to others i have seen. Im bascically after a 17" rim with a 1.5"-2" lip on the rear, and maybe same(ish) on the front if possible. Width doesnt bother me really as long as i dont have to do any metal arch mods.

from what I remember the rear lips were around aninch and a half! maybe more stucos could tell you more! I have seen a car with the 17" compomotive split rims they look like BBS's but bigger they are well smart!!

I’m after some split rims now mate, decided to bite the bullet and get a set.

Not sure what size I want though..

I have a few peeps lined up for the comps mate, seems they are quite popular I will let you know if they have changed there minds. Going to be a month or so away yet anyway.

John, wanna trade.... Speedlines 16x7 35mm offset, Toyo Proxes T1R 205/45/16. Come on you know you want to

Seriously tho keep the ones you have
I must admit I do luv the way the splits look and they never seem to go out of style, also period correct for the car.

Looking at all these, the wheels sit miles in the arches.

When your spending 1000quid+ on wheels and tyres, why the fuck dont people spend a hundred or two getting the arches sorted out so you can run a decent offset so they not skinny wheels miles in the arches?

Even crap rims that sit right look better than awesome rims (like pictured) that dont.

I did the same on my Cossie, gayest offset ever, wish I knew what I do now

I have always wanted some split rims for it Wes as I think they just suit the car down to the ground. The comps are a great wheel & I will be very sorry to sell them but think they give the car a replica look. Split rims just look soooo right.

Stavros im am thinking very carefully about what size wheels to get, im not sure whether to go 18" or 17" im sure I can squeeze a 9J on the rear and perhaps an 8 on the front.. But your right arch mods and a small offset would make all the difference.

I am also trying to get Martin J to sell me a set of his touring car wheels and go centre locks.. Unfortunately he wants to keep hold of his spares though

Awesome Paul, stunning

Few minor arch mods and some 20mm spacers all round and thatd be the coolest RS500 on earth (but obv its a mint 500 so doubt want to change its originality)
