heard mixed things too.
speaking to a guy about some on a pug 205, he said they
only had Damping on the Extension stroke
he was experienced in prepping rally cars etc. so he did know what he
was talking about, and they had just come back from Gaz being serviced!

i had problems with mine, bt i think that was mainly my fault rather than the fault of the product.
i certainly wouldnt buy them again, konis are MUCH simpler... frankly i dont give a shit if i can adjust the ride height, so i should never have bothered

well when we got ours for the XR2 group buy they made them wrong
They do work well and im pleased with them, apart from the car needing slight modification to fit. I plan on getting in touch with them and sending them back for modification and some camber bolts when I have the chance to take them back off the car.

my susupension is pretty much solid on full whack. I think the springs (275+250 IIRC) are a little hard for road use maybe. But its not too bad really. Went well on track!
This is the final corner of castle combe at around 80mph with the shocks turned up to about 3/4

If you oreder them from most suppliers, they send what they have.
I try to spec them to suit the car.
I supply loads of suspension kits, and 9/10 are GAZ, and I get more problems from other brands TBH. But it is good to hear about other peoples experiences, and what they rate.
Everyone has opinions about what is good, and what suits them best, so it's upto you which to pick, according to price, reputations and who you believe!!!

I'll be putting GAZ on my mk2 when it's done and I'm sure they will be outstanding as they will be built to the recommendations of the person who's built the car and will be setting it all up.
edited to say - there's still no excuse for them being seized etc!

And also how many use there cars on track to feel the true benifit ? usually feels crap on the road but outstanding on track imo. Its easy to slate a product when alot that say gaz arnt up to a deal have never used em where there intended to be used, all imo

Gaz on mine and cossymad spec'd them spot on. Not had a problem thus far and been on 18months. Been to the ring too and the adjustment they offer meet my driving talents. Would certainly buy another set.
The only bad thing about them is when they are cold the ride is really firm and you need a couple of miles to warm the fluid up and they come into a world of their own.

This thread has gone from they aint good to brilliant
But so far has told me some important points,
1) Get the suspension speced to the car and how you intend to use it
2) If its set for track, rides gonna be shite.... but then again I think ANYTHING will be better than the G-Shonk shocks in the car atm.

I have to agree with whats been said here, I used to use Leda, but when Dave left Leda to go to Gaz I followed, Dave is the DA in Leda, Lens still at Leda.
And yes, most problems with dampers is the buyer says he/she is going to do trackdays, not 99% of the cars mileage will be on the motorway and town streets, the same as when buying springs the buyer has read in a magazine that the racecar uses 800lb fronts and 400lb rears and orders the same.. most of the time racecar owners are lying through their teeth about spring rates, hoping that the opposition will go out and buy them...
It sounds like you've got a bloke on here that knows what he's doing (cossymad) so if your going to buy, buy from him and be honest with him and get what you NEED not what you want.
And remember if your not happy with what you have ordered, say the damping is set at one end of the scale and you need more/less, then Gaz will revalve them to suit, as with all things, you try it and then modify it
