Mondeo V6 help needed!
My ST24 is playing up. I'm pretty much stumped here, so any help would be ace
Usually when pulling out out of junctions in the first 3 gears, ocassionally the car will miss violently. It's almost like when you see a learner driver kangarooing! Only happens once (i.e. one violent jerk), then it clears and is fine for a while afterwards. Recently, it's been getting worse, and is pretty fookin frustrating TBH!
I've had a bit of a poke around tonight, and checked the following things:
1) MAF Sender - this is as clean as a whistle. The wiring and connections are in good condition.
2) Plugs - good condition, if a little large in the gap department - 1.4mm
3) I disconnected the traction control cable actuator, this made no difference at all.
The problem is still there
The only potential issues I can see is some very slight damage to the coil pack wiring (this is minor, can't see it being this), and the fact that the car has an air leak. This seems minor, can't see where it's coming from, but I can hear it when I rev the engine. If I had to guess, I'd say it was around the throttle-body end of the upper inlet manifold, possibly the idle air valve or the EGR setup.
I'm pretty much stumped - I want the car tip-top for when the cossie comes off the road at the end of the month!
Any help mucho apprecio!
Neil.

if the coil packs breaking down it could be losing 2 cyls - so its possible,
You could buy a bluefin off me then you'd have the facility to do your own fault code testing

OK guys, after more thought, I'm pretty sure it's spark related... It's so violent it couldnt be anything else.
I have fitted a different coil pack and leads - this made zero difference.
Last night, I fed a switched live to the coil positive feed (thereby bypassing the ignition relay etc), and again this made no difference.
This leaves either:
- a fault in the wiring between coil and ECU
- a faulty ECU
- a faulty sensor.
The only sensors I can see that would have an effect on spark are ECT, ACT (surely these two aren't critical and wouldnt cause such a major misfire?), CPS and Cam Phase sender. Would the last two cause a total loss of spark during engine running conditions?
Anyone have any bright ideas?

As well as possible rw The leads all had a definite 'click' as I pushed them on, but whats the chances of all of the plugs not firing at once?
The car runs fine in general!
