Default Look at what me and my mate did to a 17" MO last night!

Don't ask

The outside of the wheel with tyre intact!

Rest of the car!

Car is easily fixable, nothing too mega. We were lucky on three counts though! The curb was slanted, if it was vertical we would of gone onto the roof I think!

The back end just missed a curb, think that would of launched us too.

We went over the curb onto some grass, and just missed a big lampost with my side of the car!

No injuries, only a bit of bent metal

More I think about it the more lucky we were!

That whell must of dissapated some serious energy....!

Funny thing was even though its the passenger wheel that was whacked, the edge of the wheel and the tyre overtook us on the drivers side and flew into a bush

And does this impact on the reputation of the MO? What would one expect an alloy to do in this circumstance? Hmm...

good the thing the rim did give up...........at 40MPH somethings got to take up the impact and i'd rather it was a rim than the chassis/wishbones/hub etc..

even though there may be some damage under there it wont be anywhere near as bad as if the wheel didnt give up.

I wasn't slaggin just pointing out.

I haven't seen another wheel fail like this before though!! In my experiance they usally buckle/distort rather than fracturing.

maybe it's a subconcious threat to make us drive better 'centre of the lane, or no wheels'

Do you think Compomotive will believe the line "We did it parking up, it just clipped the curb"

I know a lad who had a very smart scooby wagon with brand new 18" (I think) 6 spoke MO's. the rim snapped off the spokes mid drift, the spokes dug into the road leading to crashing and writing the car off.

Thankfully the car was worth plenty in bits. Compomotive offered him a set of wheels at trade price.........

Quick Reply: Look at what me and my mate did to a 17" MO last night!
