There is a much better simulator here

http://www.cartestsoftware.com/cartest2000/

It costs $34.00, and you will need the latest version of Java2 to run it, but it is the dog's danglies

There is a neat online demo you can look at on the above site

Bit of a shite calculator really when you consider there is no mention of gearing
How can they possibly predict quarters etc...without that info????

I have done my total weight (me included) - not kurb weight which is fluid less anyway so pointless.

You can all add at least 100kilo's to the weight and re enter it LOL for more realistic

Wes, if there's one thing that's got to be worse than lunching your transmission, it's doing it in front of a large crowd

Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 93.79
Invalid Entry : Power to Weight Ratio must be between 95 and 1000 BHP/Ton

Interesting though how it seems to be fairly accurate as it don't know gear ratios/tyres sizes etc?

Wes, if there's one thing that's got to be worse than lunching your transmission, it's doing it in front of a large crowd

I don't intend proving my theory
Thats why you should launch at 8000 RPM, you want them to remember it, especially with 1st gear flying towards them

All of my transmission / diff / drive shaft failiures have been with people in the car, thankfully never with a crowd watching, guess i've been luck so far

James, they do acknowledge the 'missing factors' but think they also say that they used a lot of real world figures to tweak the guestimate. I agree there's some interestingly close guesses where people have got times for their car.

Had a quick look at the online demo that Bernie posted - I think that takes care of the missing factors (tons of input data!)

LOL @ WES

i think that it'd be about right if the gearing was ideal, but it's miles out for the gearing that i have (eg. i have to snatch third to see 60 )
