i have a series one shell im scapping, is it illegal to sell the id? shell goes tomorrow... i have logbook too..

Probably not, but what legitimate purpose can it be put to?

And you have to record the sale of the "car" with DVLA or you will get a tax disc fine.

not legal iirc unless obviously you sell the shell with it, then its up to the other person what they do with it. But if the shell is a scrapper then prob best to let it die rather than the id end up on a ringer.

It is not illegal mate at all But it is illegal to use it

why not make it illegal to sell or upload porn and ID then how can it be seen or sold

its illigal to use it on another car so in that respect yes its illigal, but in reality its not


but remember that when someone uses it on another shell if the dvla inspect it the car will be placed on a Q plate AT BEST as usually they just crush em

ask keithG666 what hes feelings are on people who use a S1 id on a car to increase value

Not even legal really with just a shell, DVLA had a crack down on the sale of "scrap shells with ID" a few years back. A lot of car magazines were approached and told to stop people advertising them for sale.

Be carefull if using ebay as it is being watched by the police and logbooks are being confiscated, one of the scottish boys just got visited by the Glasgow CID for buying a logbook from ebay

Me personally I wouldnt bother as all you are doing is helping car thieves and remember if you have scrapped the car you can be heavily fined if you do not inform DVLA that it is scrapped.

which is fair enough imho, I think if the cars life is over its over. Its a shame with these rare cars but I would rather one less than another dodgy ringer.
