Oasis,Are they the best rock band of the last 10 years? I saw em earlier this year and they rocked, arrogant though, didn't give a stuff about the fans, no encore or owt, but hey, thats Rock and Roll!

i wouldnt agree as im not a fan, but i do really like Definatley Maybe and morining glory

 

Great band but not the best, Somewhre behind Faith No More, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Marilyn Manson, Rage against the Machine, Radiohead, and thats some of the better bands I can think of right now. My favorite Oasis tune is Master Plan.

I know I have said this before, but their biggest Irony has turned the tables.

I remember Liam Gallagher referring to Blur as "Has been's" and to Oasis as "Gonna be's".

Well now I reckon The Gorrilaz are FAR better than Oasis ever were and Oasis are churning out shit that sounds the same as the shit they were churning out 10 years ago. So I wonder who are now the "Has been's"??

 

Biggest "chavs" in pop, infact that term was made for them, Burberry Some good songs, but they are a right bunch of Friday night dancers

Blur were one of the best bands I've seen live, and the best band at a festival for me. Last Band on a Sunday night at the Leeds Festival 2 years ago, played all my fav songs, one after the other, great live!

 

There are some things you just listen to and know thats its class....

Who;s the best will never be ever settled.. but I tink Oasis are ace, Hethen Chemistry and Standing on the shoulder of giants aint great but even the slated songs like Girl in a dirty shirt are ace.

They do rock like...

As for the gorilla's yeh good but not that good.. just ok... Personally I like Audio Bullys, Hard Fi and Bloc party at the moment...
As for Radio head and Cold play.. ergh.!!!

Radiohead are an aquired taste, I thought the same, but after a few listens you get addicted, like smoking, your first fag tastes rough as fook, so why do we have another? Coldplay is very clever in the way that Chris Martin writes chhesy drivel, put it with a catchy tune and it sells.

What you have to appreciate is the fact its original, and people try to copy them, and a hell of alot of bands are influenced by them!

AFIAK They had a break to do solo projects,when they got back together after break Albarn took the piss cos Cox's solo project failed, Cox's had a mardy and they split to reform recently

 

IMo they are aby a million miles, no more needs to be said by me

the only reason oasis get slated is cos everyone compares everything they do to definitely maybe and morning glory. that was 10 years ago people so move on
and to say they dont do encores, they do a 2 hour show ffs what more do u want.
plus they have some of the finest bands supporting them. yer gettin 2-3 quality bands for Ł30

and to be honest they did an encore at the gig i went to this summer

morning glory wasnt the best album, was just full of anthems that were right for that "britpop" era i admit be here now and giants werent the greatest of albums to follow but then again how do u follow definitely maybe which is a probably the best album since the beatles were about. oasis are definitely back in my book u only have to listen to dont believe the truth to realise it. the songs on that album are out of this world. the importance of being idle is probably gonna be an all time fave oasis song. the meaning of soul, liam wrote that and hes spose to have no talent!!!

 

I love Oasis, seen em a few times in concert and had an awesome time. They don't have songs, they have anthems!

Liam is a twat of the highest order though!

 

I saw Oasis in Newcastle in July, brilliant live band, and they did relate to the crowd. Alot of people tend to say Oasis's biggest problem was that "Definately maybe" was their first album and I would have to agree in some parts

Oasis are a decent band , fav song little by little but from the last 10 years has to be the verve for me.
