Havent done it on a RST but in general I'd drop the box too

i did it with the box still in wasn't that hard . . . . . . . till it came to put back in

i always do it with box in. Saves box oil, taking out drive shafts etc. Depends what equipmemnt uve got to lift it with.

i think its harder work to take the box off first then the engine!

Take the engine out with out the gear box

nah box in. when you do it, undo the front gearbox mount and make sure you turn the engine when it separates fom the box and it'll come out easy.

don't try to lift straight out cos it hit's the left side chassie rail and wedge the fly wheel and clutch against the gear box casing and you'll be stuck!
