Default what whould my engine and box be worth ?

412 bhp scs engine and straight cut 2nd and 3rd box.
engine has
low comp pistons
big wing sump
long studded
polished and ported head
ported inlet and plenum
t34-63 hybrid
ect ect

any ideas the engine has done about 4 to 5 k and the box has done less
made 410 trq at 3500 rpm and 412 bhp at 6000 rpm on the dyno.

Ł2.5k for the engine, Ł400to500 for the turbo, not sure on the box though

me standard i dont think so, just thinking about more power, lots more power only problem is, as allways transmission and the money needed for this so you can then use your new power that you have.
I whould like to have a car that could do 190 + mph if i wanted to do it, as at the moment my car is quick but iam getting bored of it
But i dont want to spoil my car and turn it into a car that is nasty to drive and has power that comes in like a light switch, it must drive nice
Been speaking to john about his engine as his is a 2.3 L and made 580 bhp with lots of trq to, sound just right for me, but do you think to your self after putting so much money in to an engine and box that i better not give it to much stick in case it all goes bang and cost Ł1000`s to re build.
I just dont know at the moment fancy doing it over the winter but am i doing the right thing.

If i do it, and iam not 100% sure i think i will go down the reyland gear box road and give that a go

If I still had my EsCos I would be beating Jons door down to buy his motor.
Having priced up a similar sort of spec motor its a monster bargain at Ł10k.

tbh, the money,time, effort in doing this to me will not be worth it.

You have enough there already.

What happens if you get this done and then get bored with that too.

Also like you say,if it goes bang it will cost a lot more to fix.

Bear in mind Dunc, you could always have your current setup fettled for a bit more with new map, injectors and turbo....

yes i know i could bill spoke to harvy about this some time ago and he said i whould need about 80 bhp more just to feel the difference and all me power ect whould move up the rev range and i didnt fancy that, thats why johns 2.3 L sounds right for me. it might not rev as much as a 2 L, i dont know i could be wrong as i dont know much about it but i know it has a good trq and thats what i like.
Bill do you still have the dyno for johns engine ?

yum sounds good mate, i just fancy more power as well, but i dont know if going for 600 bhp is the right way forward, may be what you are doing whould be a better move as you do see quite a few 550 + engines for sale.

Imo I'd leave it as it is, But you got to do what you got to do
Also 190 mph +
Well Looks like you will be waiting for us, at all the shows next year then
I defo think a re-map etc on your engine would be a good choice,
at least you know your engine is tried and tested

If you have the balls and the money..... then go for it.

If you concerned about the possibility of spending big shillings if it goes Pete Tong..... don't go for it.

if you concerned about what may fail..... don't go for it.

IMHO.... if the possibility of spending money over and above your initial setup costs is causing you concern, I would say it's not the right thing to do.

That's what I thought!!!! 412bhp in How can 412bhp in a road car feel slow?! Sounds like a awesome setup as well if it makes bag loads of torque at 3k and then peak power at 6k ish! That sounds wicked!!!!

its not that its slow, its just that iam wanting more, how much more iam not to sure off at the moment i probley should keep what i have got as at the moment as its seems to all work fine together, but a new turbo like a gt30 maybe, bigger injectors and remap is probley the right way to go. But what ever i go for / if i do at all, it must be nice to drive.

any one here have an escort or saff 4x4 with that spec ? and whould i gain more trq and bhp lower down the rev range or not ? and last cost what do you think 2 to 3 k or more

If you told me that months ago then why havn't you bought a decent phone by now that works Have also tried ringing and leaving voice messages but i guess you havn't been able to access these also

dont bother with voice messages, never have done as iam to busy working, normally get them turned off any way and as for the phone i have to wait till me contract is up or buy a new phone,not insured and i havent got round to doing that at the moment been to busy with visting me dad in hospital
