Default Help please...intercooler paint?

I am thinking of painting the intercooler to give it a bit more protection from the elements.

Its also gone a bit of a off silver colour now.

What paint can I use?

Will it have a detrimental effect on the performance of the intercooler?

It is pretty big lol.

Nobody seems to know what this "proper" paint is though... the question over where to get it has been done to death... I believe Graham at GRS can paint them, though dunno what paint he uses

aerosol paint is a good idea, cause its piss thin anyway which is what you want really.

black is good for radiating heat.

yeah, but most heat transfer from a radiator or intercooler to moving air is done by conduction in which case any extra layers are bad.

paint is only added by OE suppliers to enhance durability and because research tells them that most customers of mainstream cars don't want to see silver heat exchangers through their front grill.

Something like -909 or 597 you'll need. Awesome on metals, actually eats into them

Matting agent can be added to a specific colour just to kill the gloss.
