You guys are missing the point.
That car was (allegedly) built for 2 Fast 2 Furious. In which case, it has been built to be condusive with that style. It also has an element of collectability for that reason.
I'm not saying that if I modified a Skyline, thats how I would do it, because its not. But there are certainly ALOT of car-tuning communities that look at 'Us' and say 'Why bother, its a Ford'. Its a case of each to their own if you ask me.
Regarding the price, take the recent sale of David Beckhams M3. That was a joke in my opinion. To pay the stupid sum of money that this car made just because David Beckham owned it at the start of his career is just insanity.

I bet a lot of people slagged off the famous V8 Interceptor in Mad Max when the film was new. It's fake supercharger driven off the water pump and tacky fibreglass nose grafted on. But people go nuts for this car now, and the replicas.
