ok ok

when vauxhall decided they wanted to go to a 16v engine ( the xe) they took the 2lt 8v engine to cosworth and asked them to design and make a 16v head to fit that 8v bottom end so the 16v vauxhall lump was born

a couple of thou were made at the cosworth facory and stamped coscast these were fitted to early 2lt16v xe's

vauxhall for some unknown reason then decided they know better than cosworth and decided from now on they would make there own heads and change a few things with the casting

so the gm head was born it is not much diffent to the coscast head but one prob was discovered later on in life one of the oil gallerys runs to close to the water gallory what happens is ppl over tighten the head studs which causes a fracture between these two gallorys giving us what you have prob all heard from the vauxhall world a porous head (symptoms are like a head gasket failure oil in water )
