Too many posts.. I need a life!!
it's the mirror image of my old one (being rhd, lol)
they're faster as they look on paper though,
not the fastest thing in the world, but certainly not slow,
just cost quite a lot to get more power out of the I4, standard form it's quite bulletproof.

Hi peeps
the paint work it pretty good apart passanger side rear arch is fooked , and it has a rot spot on the rear chassis common place , theres a little bit of rust around the petrol cap

they are very slow mate too be honest mate , but all we want it for is a second car
as for the engine i have spoken to a few peeps about them they are expensive to tune so all we will do is get rid of the air fiter and fit a stainless exhaust the car will be striped to death and made as light as possible
it wont be too bad with front tarmac billys 500/200 with 650lbs springs and AP brakes the rear back will be altered also
we are also fitting adjustable camber /caster mod on the front all rose jointed

Looks very clean..
Ive owned 3 of them over the years... DONT get rid of the air box..fit a K&N panel filter and drill a few holes in the bottom of the box with some direct cold air feeds.. it does work very well on them..
With a nice stainless mongoose and a super chip your be around the 160-165bhp area.

Hi Dave
they are mate , all the laquer has come away they need a refurb , but i wont bother getting refurb tho , they will sit in the shed
I have 2 x of RL 7's 7.5" x 17" et 35 for the front and 2 x 8 x17" et33 for the rear
i am a bit undecided either to use these or just get a another set of 7x15's
I think when we go for the brakes i think we will decide then
it's not a bad little car to be honest for it's yr

to be honest i don't know a lot about them
all i have been told that they are expensive to get decent power out of them
like trottle boddies/ and then the engine management to run these
i have been told to bin the exhaust and fit a kn/ stainless exhaust as for anything else it's not worth the hastle

Yeh your not wrong there on the tuning lol hence why i brought a turbo lol..
But if u did wanna go mad and fit throttle boddies I know sum that was in the club i was with at the time had about 215 bhp and they had alot of money spent on them to even get that..
Chip ,Exhaust,Panel filter all pretty cheap and your be able to hammer that all day round a track . very strong engines

im sorry but personally i think you are mental, i dont know what you have paid for the car but its got to be cheap to be putting it on a track if this is a genuine car which it looks like it is you are better off selling it as it is and buying another cheaper rs2k to say about the money value of a car my rs2k has just been written off and the insurance is offering more than i paid for the car 2 years ago and im not happy with the offers at the moment so i dont know what the value is of your car mine was newer than this but had more miles on the clock than yours and this £3500 figure that you said about is very close to what my insurance is offering me at the moment.

it's cheap car and waste of time selling it on , the pass/ rear arch isn't the best allthough i have bought a new arch which is getting fitted @ Ford , the wheels are scabby apart form that the rest of the car is pretty good tho
it's not worth buying another a cheaper Rs2k because the engine in this car is mint ,no rattles, no smoke, all you can hear are the injectors ticking away
so it would make a half decent Rs2k track car

I was thinking that with the 15's to be honest , i thought with the 17's might be a bit slower pulling the car
but then again the Rl7 look nice on the car
i'll put the rl7 on the car tomorrow just to see what it looks like i know the car will sit very high because of the suppesion isn't lowerd , i'll see what it's like , i'll take a coulpe of pics and put a few on here

probably cause it's hard to find a solid one for the right money, he has got what he wanted and by the sounds of it at a good price, why sell it on to spend less on a shitter with rot everywhere.Track use tends to make cars fall apart when they ain't up to it.
good luck with the track action

1, i can't find one any cheaper than we paid for this one
2, with a good shell will make a good track car , it wouldn't be worth doing it to a shiter as the thing would fall aprt with a set of slicks on it
3, if you was after parts of this car then some of the stuff would be ideal like interior /exhaust/cat

17's would be ok if you could get skinny tyres to match the rolling diameter of the orginal 15's on 195/50/15, then your performance would not change much
But 17in wheel can weigh much more then 15in wheels unless you get some that r specifically lighter?
I must say that at first I was a bit dissapointed that you was ripping apart such a pristine example of a 2k, hell, there arnt many left in good nick ect ect, but you mention that its not as good as first thought, so im feeling better about it now, not that your worried about my feelings
We recently had a dyno session for the rs2k and all where on std plenum, no TB's and the best one had 170bhp/149lb/ft @flywheel and that was cams, exhaust, de-cat, panel filter and superchip.Though one of the cars has since had TB's fitted and an Emerald M3D engine management system and it now pushes out 180BHP
The engine is strong but can suffer piston failure due to overheating! Fitting forged pistons would make it bomb proof tho.......
Good luck with the project and I hope to see it on the track

we wont spend a penny on the engine , simple because of the cost to make it fast .
all we will be spending is exhaust/air fiter / ap brakes/ front rear suspension/front rear castor camber adjustable stuff /cage /slicks thats it , i would rather spend big money on my cossie tbh
this is just going to be a cheap track car and if it can take a few scalps on track then that will do us
you will see it on track in a few months
