Default HELP!! RAC, AA, Greenflag etc

After having had a company car for years I'm now buying my own and need to get roadside assistance but there's soo many out there now I have no idea who is the best.

I'm buying an 03 plate car with 22k miles so it shouldn't go wrong too often (hopefully!!!)

Any advise/good and bad experiences would help!!

Who are you all covered with and how much do you pay?

Thanks

Yeah loan it to your mate every so often and you won't need road side cover!!!!!!!!

Just see what the best deals are. I would personally go with AA or RAC

AA won Which, and JD power servay over the RAC this year.
We have almost twice as many patrols than the RAC,
We Fix 8 out of ten cars that we attend,
And we just obtained the Ford contract from the RAC

So it makes sense who to choose.

PM me if you decide to join AA and I will see what offers are on at the mo.

ps I'm an AA patrol.

Sorry to say you are wrong this time mate, This was true a while back and I have herd you mention this in the past, But the AA has updated there membership and we do cover RTA's (road traffic accident)

Infact it was never as bad as you make out, as RTA recovery's would be covered if you were fully comp just claimed from your insurance.
and we would never leave a member stranded.

But just to confirm...
"Relay" does cover you in a Crash.
Cheers

AA took 4 hours to come to Princes Street, Edinburgh when I got two punctures on a Sunday evening, even though they knew I had 2 kids in the car.
And for anyone who doesn't know, Princes Street is THE main street in the city centre. I wasn't in the middle of nowhere.
To make it worse, they made no attempt to comunicate with me throughout the wait unless I called them. Unless you count two texts saying help would arrive in half an hour - which were either wrong or lies - make your own mind up on that.

ive been with rac, greenflag and when i was with green flag i got the policy as they offered to match the AA's policy for 10 quid cheeper, when i called em out they REFUSED to take the car to the garage of my choice as i lived closer and said they would only take it to what ever was closer, i complained and kicked up a stink and they gave me a full refund, another 50 quid and payed the extra for me to join the AA for the policy i wanted, now even though thats customer service what they done was pay off a customer and convince me to join the AA

been with them for years now and got nothing but praise for em

just remember to tip the people who help ya out on the pissing rain guys, 5 quid for a cossie to ge home after the memebership to me seems lime a good deal, for the patrol man it pays for his coffee while the poor sod drys off on route to his next call risking his life once more , cant fault em, best direct debit that comes out of my account imo, feels even better when i dont have to call em out too

We need more members like you mate.
The rain is deffo a down side to the job, But I really get off on seeing a happy member, big smile on their face when Ive just fixed there car and there able to carry on with there journey.

The Knife- I did say that there's bound to be somone that had poor service, these things happen No breakdown service is infailable. But Im sure the Good out way the bad with most members.

also the bigger the company the more chance ya are gonna have a bad experience, but if they can still keep 99% of customers happy when some smaller firms cant keep 95% the that speaks volumes in my book

just a shame they havent took my idea and carry spare cossie engines so that we dont waste there time towing us home all the time

i would say rac, only because i had trouble with aa, first time i called them we wanted 5 hours on the side of a very cold sea front but he did fix it very quickly, and the second time the guy didnt have a clue what he was doing, and they wanted more money for joining same day as breaking down.
Only had to call the rac once and they where very quick and the guy went striaght to the problem and fix it in under 15mins.

and they wanted more money for joining same day as breaking down.

so do most compaines if they charged the same no fooker would pay the cash un till the broke down and the fees would be alot higher

also its unfair saying one person never knew what they was doing but the other guy went straight to the problem unless it was the same issue and any idot can spot a fooked gearbox,,,,,,,,,,, its harder to diagnose a ecu fault with out checking

i more than rate the AA

RAC for me. Me, me dad and me sister have a family policy and it works out at just over Ł40 each for the year.
*Touch wood* I haven't had to use them in the 8 years I've been with them, but me dad has used them a few times and they've been sound, always there within the hour.
