Default Storage Depots - Any experience with using them?

Went to get some quotes today and I was a little taken aback by the prices these places charge.

Can anyone here recommend a Company (doesnt have to be local to MK but obviously cant be in Scotland lol).

Or failing that, anyone know of a dry space, approx half the size of a normal garage I can rent for 12 months?

I still stand by the 'ooops did I leave that there?' approach we discussed earlier.

What were u quoted roughly????

We have a depot in MK with 2 large warehouses, we usally do storage for IT companys, but im sure if you boxed/wrapped all your stuff up on a pallet then it would be fine, what kinda stuff you needing to store

I think the rates are about 10quid per pallet per week

Being quoted between £90 - £130 every 4 weeks for a 50ft squared space. Im willing to commit for a year but that's only getting me a 10% discount.

Needing to store a 3 seater + 2 seater sofa, and a couple of Pine units, possibly some flat packed bedroom furniture too.

Not really, but a clean dry garage would be good (hint hint) lol

Just been offered a container by a small company for £820 for 12 mths (works out £68.33 per mnth). Thats for 105 sq ft, but he's looking at getting some smaller units 80 sq ft which will be a bit cheaper but not quite sure if it will be big enough.

My brother has had to use one of these places while he gets his extension built. Expensive stuff!

If it's for a year, you'd be better selling your stuff and buying new ones in 11 months

Rab, that is looking like a sensible option for my Sofas.

Cally, I am going indefinately but you never know what might happen, and since I have to sign the house over for rent for a minimum of 12 months I figured it best to get quotes for storage on the same period of time.

However, my Mum as per usual has just come up trumps with an alternative option (after giving me one of those looks when I told her im selling my sofas). We just need to run it past my Dad first, which is never an easy option
