RCA out-puts..(pre-outs)
Hi People,i have a new style 1.4 zetec fiesta, and have been told i cant fit a cd player into it because it has 3 slots....1 for the cd's to go into, the other for the volume and the small display screen and the 3rd for the 1-6 buttons and the skip buttons. What i was wanting to know was if my car has an RCA out-put so i could link up my amp for my speakers and subwoofer?I have been trying for so long to find out about this but have been really unsucessful!!If someone could please help me with my query,it would be greatly appreciated.GARY

I'm pretty sure there are no RCA pre-outs on the back of the head unit. There's 2 ways around this. 1 buy a new head unit, 2 get a speaker to RCA converter. This will take 2 of your speaker channels and turn them into RCA@s for the amp. I had to get one for my 1st Pioneer tape player.

there is an autoleads adapter plate u can buy to fit a normal DIN sized head unit, unfortunately u also have to buy a bit from ford too (speak to any competent audio salesperson and they will fill u in the details, if they good they can even tell u the part number....cant remember it offhand)
I doubt there will be RCA's at the back. probably will be a multichanger plug tho.

Is it a 5000/6000CD unit?
There is a data socket that can be made to work on most. It is designed to work with Alpine multichanger, That's the best chance you have, without fitting a complete replacement head unit.
At present, most of the head units .. apart from Sony (obviously) are made by Visteon.
Check the back of your unit for the socket ... and either try an Alpine changer using a lead from the catalogue or asking at an Audio dealer if they can supply one.
If I got the unit wrong .. sorry . .I usually do just the CMax/Focus and the odd Mondeo stuff.
