I have one, and it sounds like you haven't put in the Rubber Cotton Bobbins in the right position.
Make sure you have one of the cotton bobbins on top of the bracket which spaces the cooler down from the chassis rail, and the other one goes under the bracket with the steel sleeve going through the two of them.
Basically one rubber cotton bobbin either side of the bracket. If the cooler is still sitting too high, then put both bobbins on top of the bracket and use a quality large washer on the bottom of the bracket. Don't forget to put the steel sleeve through the rubber cotton bobbins, otherwise as you tighten up the bolt, you'll just squash the rubber bobbins and the cooler will end up too high (Hence your bonnet not shutting)
If I've solved your problem, 1 Hieneken Please....
This spaces the cooler down, by about 3/4 of an inch.
Let me know how you get on , as I can go out and check mine which fits perfect.
