dose anyone know if there are any head units that you can play music from a loptop ??

loptop - like it

yeh buy a head unit with rca INPUTS, ie a cd changer input or something.

alternatively, just use the line out the laptop, straight into the amps

thanks dose anyone use laptop as part of there ice i was hopeing to use it coz i thought it would be more useable than a HU with a screen?

laptop a bit too big, my mate used a palmtop mounted on the dashboard.

worked well!

Yes mate .. Just buy a head unit with an auxilary in.
Use a line out on the laptop (if it has one) Headphone output uses another pre-amp .. so wont be so good quality, and input gain not fixed.

For instance .. If you can plug in an iPod, it could also be another device.

i think the headphone scoket is the only out put un less firewire or USB ports can be used?

Cant use them mate ...... far as I know .. no head unit has these .... yet!
Use a stereo jack to the input format on the head unit and try that.
I am getting an Alpine 9855R (Ipod input) but dont know the format yet .. It needs an adapter, but must plug into the unit in a normal sort of way.

thanks for that im shure some one will make laptop compatable one soon enough. could just get in car pc system lol im sure they dont cost much
