The Kebab shop still there, just at the entrance to the link road down to the Island?
Used to do a great Adana Kebab there!
Barry Commando's still gruesome girls, like they used to be when I was at St Athan base for 10 years til '88 ?

The nvq3 is a piece of piss mate. I thought they have changed from the 2360 now, our apprentices are doing another one now. I did the 2360 was the first year it started 99 i think

Yea my local college stopped doing it! I done Part1 there (harlow), and had to go to turnford to do Part2!! Done PAT testing aswell, how hard is that lol lol!
Test & Inspection next on the list and that should be it!
That NVQ3 isn't needed though is it, i had a bloke come out to site once on my NVQ2 and i didnt really do anything! He watched my put a few lights up and do second fixing as it was near end of the job, done some crappy folder with pics and god knows what and that was it! NVQ3 seems like its going to be the same!!!! Whats the point! The whole electrical game seems a right mess to me!

I did an apprentiship with jtl(part of the jib) the log book for the nvq3 is a fooking nightmare to be fair, the am2 is a piece of piss if your not just a house basher. Testing and inspection is meant to be hard. I wouldnt mind going back and doing it and the t+i, just need to get into me gaffer i think

I've been told T&I is easier than Part2! & Part2 is only hard if you don't put the work in! Which i didnt first time round!!!
None of this C course though, couldn't bare doing that!

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I wish I could become an electrician, been told Im too old at 24, and yes Ive tried everywhere
Looks like it's night-school for me, and even then I'll have no real-world experience

Sometimes it works in your favour as you would be seen as more comitted and settled, not like some of the pi55 heads we have
Its just whether you could handle the start money.

I'd love to get an apprenticeship but I don't seem to have any options left. I've contacted the big blue chip companies, local electrics firms, been to the job centre, all the careers offices that are available etc etc if anyone has any ideas Im all ears! It's my fault, should've sorted this out years ago instead of taking the easy money
The start money's not a problem, I still live at home and Im selling my S3 anyway, perhaps Im just destined to stay an IT nerd
Thanks for the positive comments

The colleges round my way won't let you sign unless you are already working for a company (they have no contacts that they could offer me for this), and as I mentioned above no-one I contacted wanted me anyway, perhaps I should take the hint

Thanks for the advice Gareth, I won't be giving up.
Being an electricians 'mate' seems like a good idea, I'll see what I can sort out
