Less of the , the only PM I have had from you was this one, which I thought was a bit odd!!.....

As Tony says, we are so busy that I admit some Emails/PM's don't get replied to. I do my best. We are currently booking for the end of October.

As for Omex. What do you want to know?

600 Series is the best system to go for. It is fully loaded and not too badly priced. Tony and I both run 700 Series, but thats overkill to be honest.

You are looking at about £2k to supply/fit and Map an Omex 600 Series Management System to a car that is already EFi equipped.

Does that help??

Considering the ECU is the best part of a bag of sand the price is good, then you have to buy the loom, and make it. You have to allow around £500 for live mapping, especially if you want some of the "toys"....

Yeah, rip off

Whats odd about it is this. If you approached ANY Trader and said 'What do you sell', its like asking 'How long is a piece of string'. What you really need to decide when thinking of that question is what it is that you need and then investigate who can supply it. Sorry if this sounds awful. I could reel off a list of things that I sell, but that would take me ages as it is such an open question. Imagine phoning Argos and asking them what they sell??

As for the Omex question, you seem to suggest that DTA is a superior product. Omex 600 Series is a Distributorless system, with Turbo Wastegate Control, Anti-Lag (or Over-Run Boost), Variable Cam Control, Traction Control, Full Throttle Gearchange, Narrow and Wideband Lambda Support, Knock Sensing capability, Intercooler Water Spray Control, Water Injection Control, Nitrous Control, Twin Independant Fan Control, Tacho/Shift Light and Fuel Pump outputs, Acceleration Fuelling Setup, Cold Start, Warm up, Battery Compensation, Coolant/Air Temp Compensation etc etc. The 600 and 700 Series ECU's are up there with the best of them.

As Tony says, by the time you consider the ECU, Sensors and Loom, you are looking at nearly a Grand, so to Supply/Fit and Map it for AROUND £2k is a competitive price.

Maybe you should look at Cossie Management?

no.1 making the loom and live mapping is included.

no.2 fair point about omex, it does alot for the money, but alot of that list are useless for wot im looking for plus its costs more than dta.

no.3 p.t.s (part time students) do omex aswell

no.4 yes i know how this shit works

no.5 Do you?

Again, thats like saying "I want a BMW but dont want the Aircon, Leather Seats, Alloy Wheels and Sat Nav". In other words, but a Rover.

If you know how it works, you will know that not just anyone can fit and Map a Standalone Management System. Have a go by all means.

Pretty much sounds like you need to learn some basic etiquette.

What do you sell? I'd have binned that too.

How can it be a rip off, when it's just a different product that's more expensive?

It's the equivalent of saying that a Pirelli tyre is rip off becuase it's more expensive than a cheaper tyre

Goon

cant see why people feel the need to slate a companies quote, its not like you have to acccept it Also if he can fit it himself i doubt he would be asking what he needs.

i fitted omex 600 in my zetec turbo took 2 hours to get the omex in and started on a base map

after 2 hours on the road with a afr guage (innovate LM-1) it was very drivable and started up with no extra throttle and idled smooth

shame it wasnt mine i had to fit my 500 back in a week later

if u compare both systems there aint a lot in them its all down to the tuner and experience and 2k aint out of the way for a new system done and dusted also spoke to mike yesterday he says buy a pectal t2 its about a grand for the box and the loom is quite easy to do and the tech advice from pectal is the nutts .

So you had a loom already built then??

Also, 2 Hours is about right for getting it to that state. Mapping for Full Boost and Power and everything inbetween takes a little longer.

At work we charge around £2000 for an Omex conversion, thats a fair price for the work involved.

who was quoting £1500 for DTA fitted & mapped??
