Default How do you guys....

..... clean cloth seats?

Is it a good idea to take them out the car and give them a good steaming? Or is it likely to do god knows what to the foam, cloth.... whatever is trapped in them?

Or do you just use some carpet and cloth foaming shampoo thing?

Any help / ideas / product names greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I'd be interested in this MrsFrog as mine have 180'000 miles worth of dirt on them

The cloth on mine is nice and huggy still so don't want it to go all saggy like some i've seen - was advised not to steam them by the valeters i worked with, just wipe them over several times and keep trying

speak to ryan.

unbolt seats from car. Then unstitch cloth as there are only a few proper stitches in there - Mrs Frog you will know all this about stictching etc being a woman an all )

Once all seats covers are off the base, wash the covers in a bath or something, or washing machine or just give em to a woman and give her the nod - if she is well trained she will know what to do

OY !!! YOU!!!

Why Ryan? Has he ever done all that to seats with good results?

Like GreyRS said, I don't want my seats to go all saggy and yeuky... but want them cleaner than with the can and brush. Have done that before and they look good for a little while, then they seem to catch even more dirt than before.

Any pros on here would know how to?

Ok so seeing as I am disabled for the next few weeks, who would be kind enough to come and help me?

Only kidding, but I really want them looking all mint and all but not "aged"...

Have any of you taken piccies after they were washed? The seats I meant... before your twisted little minds think of something else....

I used groom on my recaros for the stubborn stains and went over them with a steam cleaner which i bought from homebase for Ł50. They came up nearly new!!

If using a steam cleaner test in an area you wont see because it can scorch certain fabrics.

Ok, I will give Nath's steamer a go first.... because it seems less work!!

If I am not happy with the results, my seats are off to Ryan's !!! But I am not doing any unstitching / stitching!! I wouldn't know how!!

So I guess I have until the next Berks meet to steam them, so I can give them to Pete to take back "darn south" to Ryan if they need more cleaning!! Cool!!

Will do Ryan.

It's the spare set of seats I want cleaned up before I put them in the car. I guess I could get that off to you and then get Nath's steamer to do the door cards and the roof and carpets. Then its half and half!!

Will talk to the man tonight when he gets home and see what he thinks!
