I got a new front wing on the S2 and am gonna get some quotes to paint it.

roughly works out to be 100 per panel
even if you wash over to other panels

C'mon boys ... Decent paint is 100 for a bonnet and 80 per panel cash, isn't it ?
Plus paint/materials
I know a place that's doing a lot of Formula 1 stuff .. and they wouldnt charge me Ł200 for an Escort 4 wing. You gonna spray onto a 2-packed bonnet to match up a wing then? Not on mine, mate.

Here in Middlesbrough the average seemed to be about Ł130 a panel when I was looking, with a deal if you wanted more doing (I had 2 panels done, cost me Ł200 - faultless job)
Edit: It was a wing and door I had done.

To get a proper job done, you need to blow the paint in across the bonnet and door. So I would say round about Ł150-Ł200. If you just had the wing done it would stick out.

But that ain't matching a finish and colour, is it?
You're just hiding the mismatch from the eye by losing it across surrounding panels.
I know most places do it .. because of the problems matching faded colour, etc ... but it's hardly "proper" mate.
I recently saw a Lexus metallic copper bonnet shagged by a paint shop who tried that trick.

how the Łcuk some people earn money painting panels I dont know.....
These prices you've all quoted above, does that include prepping and painting underneath the wing to stop it rusting away????
besides only Guzzler has mentioned the fact the wing needs fitting first, it needs fitting before painting, as its welded on incase you arent aware of that
I would imagine you could expect to pay 100-150 for fitment too...

people think proper bodywork is cheap
i had a few people offer to take Sassy's fiesta turbo, strip it, prep it, paint it & then mop it for around a grand, it would have looked ok, but i wanted a real good job so i took it to my friends place, he quoated Ł3000 + parts, but didn't have time to it, so i done all the hard work he lined up the doors & welded them on then painted the car for Ł1200.

any way, in my experience, any price a painter gives as an estimate should have half as much added again, to be a more realistic price as to what it will be once they are finished

Apples .. Try reading the post title mate ....
Paint a wing. Meaning ... spray a wing.
Fitting .. Welding, seam sealer, etc and the protection underneath will add another 100 quid I would have thought.

just finding my feet
just to spray a wing would be 100 to 150 quid and thats a resonable job for the car it is
3k to spray a car thats worth 2k is silly
i got quoted to blow over my cossie at work for 1600 quid or a full spray job and all shuts for 3k, thats from ford
150 including paint is about the average tbh 200 for a experienced place that values hsi hard work
