Fitting an XE Redtop into a Mk2 escort
Does anyone have any pics or a guide of how to fit the engine mounts to the chassis for putting the XE in a mk2 ?
Got the kit from SBD but its all self assembly kinda thing with no instructions of where they mount or anything
Any help or links appreciated

Is it just a case of bolting them up to the engine, line everything up and that shows you where they go then ?
Ive read that its self build mounts so you can put the engine as far back or forward as you like, is this right ?
Really confused now, ive searched all over the net but cant find anything about it on google or any forums
Cheers

Thats like a half a kit then, you would think SBD would put a note in saying 'Heres how to install these mounts.......'

Its done that way because some people chop the lump off the back of the head and cam and run them dizzyless. You can get them closer to the bulkhead that way. Others leave the dizzy on and thus have to have it sitting further forward.
There should also be a small tilt sideways on the engine block - about 7 degrees if I remember correctly.
We always mount them dizzyless but leave just enough room to check the blanking plug and to route some wiring / pipework round the back.
Line it up with the engine crane and mark it up - you will be fine.
