Greenlight didnt want any extra for fitting a cage from me

Down side is they wont cover for personal injury (or whatever they call it) with a cage fitted.

Also found not many companies would insure me with a cage

Hi Guys,

Just to clarify the "Roll Cage" point.

We deal with a number of underwriters and as you correctly point out most don't like roll cages.

However, the one's that do the cages do not increase their premiums charged for a cage. Their view is very much that the cages would be beneficial in an impact situation.

With regard to excluding personal injury, this would not be due to a roll cage so if you have this exclusion PM me and i'll investigate.

Passengers or other third parties CANNOT have their right to mount a personal injury claim excluded.

With regard to the driver (ie. You) some policies incorporate a personal accident benefit that applies if you were injured badly and the accident was your fault. This may be what was excluded.

However, if the accident was not your fault you would still be able to claim from the responsible driver or the MIB (Motor Insurers Bureau - not men in black) if they were not Insured.

If you're covered with us our policies usually have a solicitor/legal expenses company included with any legal costs covered up to Ł100,000. So they will take up the case on your behalf and fight your corner.

Hope this helps...

Tony

Tony i tried Greenlight for a quote on both my cars, very upset whn the bloke on the phone asked me what car it was and how much was i quoted, when i told him my HIC renewl he said we wont be that, worse thing about it he did not ask about engine size, mods or anything.

I now pay Ł1000 to HIC to insure both my cars, both my friends who has RS Turbos have also gone elsewhere when i told them.

All because this guy could not be bothered
