Default Natural flames from cars.......

i'm going to ask a really stupid question here but i just wanted to ask....

why do some RST's and cossies flame but some don't at all??? (even when they are similiar spec)

AND

How come big powered but BRAND NEW cars don't do it?? e.g. the new M5 508 bhp thing....take it that wouldn't flame???!? but a 508bhp cossie would!!!

talking of flames....i am now getting prepared to be shot down because of this post

Over-run fuel cut-off for one, if an M5 did the CAT would be fucked so quick.
Also Mapping. Exhaust temps. etc etc etc etc etc
And a V10 M5 isnt that highly tuned compared to a lil cossie 4pot at same power is it...

Stage 3 cossie chips often have a massive amount of fuel on the overrun, so when you are doing 6000rpm in 4th and shut the throttle it continues to piss loads of fuel in which the engine doesnt use, combine that with a red hot exhaust and you have big flames.

My Focus flames briefly on the limmiter if the exhaust is hot enough!

I've got vids of my old VTS flaming on the limmiter/on hard banging of the throttle with just de-cat + Magnex.

Mine had good flames on the Bedford track day, seen the vid.

Also i liked it when you change gear when giving it loads and you hear a big boom out of the car.

my old chip used to kick out 5 foot flames from the rear it i changed gear quick enough ( cant think why i need a new box ) when i got a chip of stu it aint as bad and only about 3 foot

well untill i got the ignition problem and then it started flaming so much at times i could see em in the rear view and would light up country lanes

back on topic,,,,,,,,,,,,,, novas should never flame UNLESS ya the repair bill is biger than the insurance payout

Or is this a piss take?

I could get flames out my MK2 rs2000 with the pinto in....

All depends on HOW much abuse you give it....

Manifiold temps and single box - they were little blue ones out the back of that...

Mine will flame easily with or with out the flamer LOL..

Well they are sometimes about the size of a football if that makes sense? I just didn't think a basically standard car would do that.
