25mm i'd say, dont go lower than that mate or you are asking fro trouble imo. (Or you'll need to mod your arches etc)

But a big part of it can be down to trye choice / size

Don't know how much it's lowered, but I know it rubs like shit with 215/40-17

imo it doesnt look that low Might me wrong offset wheels and thats why they rub so much

25mm, any lower with any wheel is a waste of time, although I wouldn't go for 17's

had my old S2 lowered 40 mm with 17s hated the car crashed and banged all over the place then fitted 25mm springs and was soooooo much better so i guess
25 mm should do fine

you cant go lower than fitting them in first place
best getting 16's id say.17's mite not rub but thats if you have no passengers and no speed bumps etc to deal with.

on all my old escorts i had 60mm with 17s and it never rubbed

even with 5 up

you just need to know where and what to modify to stop the rubbing

ive never had any probs so far bar one where i forgot to fit bumpstops
