Went twice back in the day when mervyn was there and he set my FRST up the bollocks, after he left had another setup which was terrible (fitted a charge cooler the boost needed turning up and where as before Mervyn adjusted my actuator rod the other dude wouldn't do it incase he burnt his hands and proceeded to make a bleed valve from a washer jet t-piece!)
This was about 4 years ago and whether they are any better I don't know??
Like everything its not always the company its people that work there.

Matt, used them for many years for servicing on my 4x4 cossie. Couldn't fault them really, car ran without any problems for 7 years (and still is), however, as the years went by, I felt as though they were less and less interested in my custom, and I kinda felt like I was wasting their time

Straw that broke the camel's back was last time I went after I rebuild my cyl. head. Car had a high idle, booked the car in for rolling road setup, chap there plugged some diagnostics thing in, said MAP or TPS. Changed the MAP sensor = no change. Looked at the TPS from across the workshop, said "oh, that's a 2wd TPS (on a 4x4)" and used a known working 2wd TPS, same problem.

Turned out (as I found out at home and thanks to PF), that the TPS was in fact a 4x4 one (wrong color though), and it was incorrectly adjusted. So I managed to fix the car myself.

I paid Ł95 to be told car had to be booked in for a full electrical check at a cost of min Ł200....

I wasn't impressed by my last visit. Rod convinced me that Sheady would in fact service my car (didn't think he would).

That's about it.
Hope it helps

I took my saph there with eratic running, and for a RR set up.

Almost imediatley they said they couldnt rolling road it cos the transfer box is a bit fooked (mostly rear drive) but diagnosed the running problem as the inlet gasket.

I waited around while they changed it, and while I thought the labour rate was bloody steep - I cant really fault the service.

over the last 12 months i have spent most of my time there getting my car sorted. They never got sick of the sight of my car and believe me it caused them a few head aches. They sorted every little problem and I actually got to know Ian and Chris quite well, top blokes IMO. Show a general interest in your car and will do all they can to help.

Also run an excellent club rolling road day.

Visited with a friend 3 years ago to have his new piper cam fitted and car setup.

The car seemed to run fine ... 2 days later the rocker came off in the head, when removing the rocker cover we discovered the 2 others were only finger tight

Wasnt impressed with the fact they missed out on a few serious faults when i took mine to get it set up. Told them i was having a bad miss off boost an sometimes became undrivable. Was checked over and the only fault they diagnosed was that the pump voltage was droping and needed re-wireing and stoped working on it, and it was leaning out on high boost.

After taking it away and talkin 2 a few ppl realised the miss/bad running was due to a split plenum gasket and after re-wireing the pump, i drove the car up to Stu (MSD) he found the fuel reg was fucked, the CPS was slightly out of position, 2 things that should have been found at Powers, which meant stu couldnt finish setting it up as it was leaning out in high boost.

Know a fair few ppl that have had no probs there so its not all bad, just my experiance of them.

i went there for a rolling road run a few months ago with a couple of mates, (my 3dr, mk2 golf with "home" ignition advance setup , and a polish astra turbo, and polish puma, he might remember us!) when my cossie was standard, and i think it was chris (the tall one???) was a really nice bloke and seemed very interested in our cars. Didnt have any technical work done so cant comment on that.

I have had my cars at PE for Power Runs and Servicing never had a problem down there. Also they have built a few Focus turbos (6 IIRC) that had issues but they sorted them out everytime, Customer service when you are there is excellent.
Chris and Ian who look after the dyno are top blokes and no matter what you have (even if its german or spainish) they are more than happy to help.

Get Chris or Ian to work on your car's and you'll have no problems

A man that has a Mk 1 fezzy with a 1900 turbo lump with a supercharger and NOS can work on my car anytime

Wouldn't use them for our own personal cars as there is far more knowledgable people i would rather put my car in the hands of And prefer to have it live mapped ......But have taken a few shit box's there for cheap set up's as its local, sometimes they come out ok other times they aint had a clue so have ended up taking them down to grove who sort it in 5 minutes

And from others i have heard if you don't know what your on about they like to try and sell you some stuff My mate got stitched up first hand, and there was nothing wrong with his engine
