DEYTUKURJERBS
theory is one thing, but in reality it is different.
i noticed no difference in throttle responce or lag when going from a std 2wd cooler to a rs500 one when running a pussy t3.
and never noticed any difference on one of my old 5 turbos from going from a tiny std cooler to a stupidly long pipe setup when it went backwards to a charge cooler, then to the std intercooler location, then right down into the front bumper to a cossie intercooler, then back up the other side to the carb, and that was on a tiny hybrid t2.
and never noticed a difference on mates S14a when we made a DIY massive front mounter to replace the std wing mounter, and that had stupid long piping as the cooler pipes was at either end of the cooler but the pipes entered and exited the engine bay at the same point!
agree in theory it makes a difference, but must be incredibly slight, and the word incredibly must be an understatment...

Steve, did you have a DV when you went to the 500 cooler?
If you dont have a dump valve the cooler stays pressurised so its not an issue.
Suprised you couldnt notice it on that R5 though, im fairly sure i could have done if it was that bad as ive felt the differnce with less extreme setups than that
