I just picked my new ones up from Ford. They're black.... I thought the Motorcraft ones were Red............. Have they changed or has the 12 year old boy down at my Local ford garage got it wrong?

did they come in a motorcraft box?

not ALL motorcraft leads are red, different cars are different colours (ie my engine ones are black, my 12v ones were red etc)

 

They came in a white box with a Motorcraft sticker. The last set I bought were Red. My local ford dealer is also a Rover dealer and they sometimes make an arse of it and give you the wrong parts......

For instance I had to buy a Mk6 escort Rocker cover cos the bloke couldn't understand that A 1991 engine was EFi.................................... And kept trying to sell me the MFi rocker cover.

The Mk6 one is black and looks cooler anyway

 

Ford does sell the original ones and then cheaper (also motocraft) alternatives that are always black in a white box.

 

So, he's given me cheapo substandard parts?

FRST. And Jim. They made EFi Escort XR3is. I never specified if it was turbo'd

 

Well, some still seem to thing that the Escort RS Turbo they own has EFi for some strange reason

The fact they never EVER made one is irrelevent lol

Oh and I know the late xr3i was EFi

 

they are also Red on a XR2i CVH EFi.

number looks correct to me mate all new leads sets should be black you may get the old red set thats been on the shelf for a few years

halfords also sell dark grey Bosch leads which arent too bad only 18 quid too

 

As far as I understand the aftermarket leads are pish

The only ones to use are the motorcraft.

I have some Grey Bosch leads I bought from Halfords, have done 1200 miles..... but they aren't black

Halfords own leads are black, and have Halfords stamped all over it

 

nowt wrong with Bosch leads

Bosch are Grey and match....... fuck all



And I never said Bosch leads have Halfords on them

half the price... saying that, cost obviously doesnt matter, at this level of detail.. More about the right colour

 

But mine aren't dark grey, they are just grey, like the colour of the box you typed your message in, no where near black...

Im not arguing with someone who thinks black ignition leads are cool... clubs, beer, women, there cool

but Ive got the bosch leads and they ARE the SAME colour as pictured above..

 

Doo sorted my new motorcraft leads out for my Mfi. They are black too.
They do look the part I must say!

 

Who is arguing? I was never discrediting the colour of your leads, only mine, because they are grey, and I want black ones.

Actaully, I don't really give a toss anymore because I want to sell it.

 

i always buy the erst efi leads as they havent got them gay long extensions on them and they are cheaper
