Default Zetec on bodies

Hi !

I'm currently busy fitting a 2.0 S3 Zetec into my mk1.
I want to run the engine on throttlebodies.

Anyone know a good management and body make ?

I know Burton sells a complete kit from Weber and Omex....

Any help is welcome !

DTA and Jenvey is a well used and recommended kit for that application. Parts and base maps are readily available.

Pic's of that combination MEF recently fitted on a Suzuki Swift are here.

try giving these people a call

http://www.dunnellengines.com/

they are pretty helpfull and the stuff is good. the figures that they advertise is what u get, not an estimate, or if ur lucky!
the 175bhp kit out the box bolted on, will give u 175bhp.

@ Red16, thanks for that link. I already know that
I was just wondering if there were other companies arround here who do them.

I talked to Martin Fox and he quoted me a nice price so I'll probably got for that.

People who went to FordFair, probably seen my car on the XRTwo.com stand :

It had an RS1600i engine in it...

But I decided it needed an upgrade...

Thanks again.

It is a very tidy car though I had a good look around it at a local sprint meeting and we had quite a chat.

Or create your own on bike bodies

Bike bodies are good for a cheap mid power setup, but for big power, bike bodies generally arent big enough...

depends on what bike u take them off ,

I know of a very , no i mean VERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! quick civic Type R on ZX12 bodies

These are as big as u gan get i think , GSXR1000 are relativly big , im going to try a set of R1 ones on mine ,

a. they were cheep ( free actually )

b. insted of a 64mm bodie supplying air to 4 cylinders ill have a 48mm bodie supplying each cylinder indevidually , shurley thas will be better than the aformentioned

once i have everything set up and running ill be able to comment further , its all a learning curve , i may even go back to a traditional plenem and single throttle body set up , time will tell

true, just not many bikes are bigger than about 46 ish mm, whereas big power you;ll be wanting nearer 50 mm bodies.. but as you say for the cost, you cant knock em

true bud

I have another friend with lotus twin cam on 48's , went to try a set of CBR carbs and after his first race ripped them off and threw them in the bin ,

Apparently the twin cam will only acheive good power on 48's anyway but was worth a go i spose

Hi !

Yeah Lee I found it LOL.

I think I'll go for the Jenvey setup bacause it's proven to work, pretty easy.

Yesterday I took the engine out of the car. 1.5 year of work, gone in a few hours

The next few weeks I'll be collecting parts for the Zetec conversion and than test fitting it all !

I want it ready in may, so I can come to FITP 2006 in the mk1 !

Cheers

Martein

Definitely Jenvey and seeing as the price of T2 has recently come down, Pectel T2 management.

GSXR 750 throttle bodies (46mm throttle plate) on RS2000 engine

Emerald management is superb value for money and the mapping is dead cheap.

http://www.emeraldm3d.com/em_m3dk.html

Don't forget throttle bodies have no chokes and flow a lot more than equivalent carb sizes.
