had a black r-reg one for the last year, cant fault it

Only thing id say to look for is when the engines warm make sure it ticks over well below 1k rpm, alot of gti's/escorts had idle speed control vavle issues, a new one puts this right though and not that expensive.

theyre good cars mate, and the 1.8 zetec can be quite a lively engine for the power/weight of the car. main concerns with mk6 escorts with zetec lump is the idle. most of em have or have had or will be due some bad idle, but thats nothing a new icv, some new plugs and leads and a good service wont sort. other worry can be fuse boxes but they take a while to go and its not a massively common problem. oh yea, they love eating wishbones if ya slam them on big wheels

Nice little cars well equipped with a nice interior. Usable amount of power, nothing to set the world alite but usable non the less.

Bro's missus has one and it's been near faultless. Bro pepped it up a bit with some 16" Mondeo rims and chip, air filter and a Magnex exhaust system.
