I got a base from IKEA not much, under 20 quid if I recall, I was just going to put a base of MDF or something on the bottom of the chair (so u cant see it) and bolt the base and frame to it?

bolt the frame directly to the chair frame, remove the sub frame, drill holes and bolt it up
