Got my court summons on friday
Court date 5th september for
getting caught doing 103mph.
Its inevitable(spelling) that im going to lose my licence, the situation im in
is that im a service engineer that relies on my licence as im a van driver and 99% of my work is on road.
What im thinking is would i be able to sit along side some one who has a
provisonal license so they can drive the van if i lost my licence??
Cheers

Nope, not unless you have a valid licence.
Same thing happened to me, well I was caught at 107. In my mitigating circumstances I pleaded that I needed my car. I got a two week ban over Christmas for my efforts!
So as long as you've filled out all forms begging, you should be okay. You might even get smacked with 6 points instead.

I got 6 points and a Ł300 fine when i was caught doing 101mph. Just plea, beg, and apologise. The fact that you need your licence for work may help.
Best of luck

I think all of the above comes 2nd ......... you might want to try, if you can, get a half decent reason together as to why you saw it necessary to be doing that sort of speed in the first place!

In that case, I think I'd take a 2 week ban and take the time off work sick or something
![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
If you get 12 points, you get a totting up ban.
And that's a minimum of 6 months...

Just don't forget - don't drive to court as you'll be fooked and unable to get home if you get banned

Speed limits are there for a reason so no excuse really for doing 103mph TBH, not even an emergency.
Depends on what the limit was in the area at the place of the offence on how severe it will be considered and how hard you're gonna get bumraped by the man with the wig.
The only leg you may have to stand on is as people have said you need the car for work, AND plea that if you have no car, no job and no way of paying the fines, but with 6 points already, may be clear to them you don't learn your lesson and may make an example of you.

It could be worse fella, I was told a story at the weekend of a bird who got clocked at over 130 in her beamer, then over the next two weeks she was clocked at over 100 again and clocked at 58 in a 30. Even though she was stopped the frst time she still kept speeding and the second and third tickets came through the post over the next two weeks.
She'll be well and truely fucked, and rightly so.

2 mates have been in front of the magistrate for 103mph and 101. My mate with the 103mph got 3 points and sent on a speed awareness course. My mate with the 101mph was given 6 points and fined Ł600
Expect the worst then anything else will be a bonus

From what Ive gathered udges dont give a toss if you need your license for work.
Where they do give a toss ( apparently ) is that if you losing your license, may affect other staff in your work hardship.
Or indeed it may affect your family ( sole license holder, providing for kids, elderly ??? )
Of course you could say to the Judge that it wasnt that bad of an offence. It was after all some 50mph LESS than a certain police officer deemed it safe to drive, who was let off without any charges.
