Default TORQUE SETTINGS

OK folks i know it,s in wrong forum,but most ppl dont look in technical,well im going to build my mates 4x4 cossie engine tomorrow ,but what i need to know is head bolt torque settings,he is useing arp studs and a metal head gasket

That's cos most people either use normal stretch bolts or long stud.

Th ARP studs don't allow for 'movement' caused by two different materials of differing thermal expansion rates.
The result tends to be a cracked block around where the studs fit into the block.

Std head torque is......

1. 45-50 nm
then
2. 180 degrees



But some of the ARP bolts (not sure on the Cossie) have a different torque setting so check this 1st...
