Default Nokia PC Suite Question......

Is there any way I can transfer Text Messages from one phone to another?

Dont suggest using the 'Forward' function as that could get expensive!!

the only way you can do it as far as i'm aware and only if there identical models is to take a back up of one and restore it to the other!!

should give you the option of which items to back up and restore and should leave the other items untouched!

Make a back up of your phone first incase it goes horribly wrong!!

I could always do it on the old Nokia Data Suite (I mean really old, like 6150 days).

The PC Suite that came with the 7610 doesn't appear to have any provision for it.

I have attempted to transfer the contents from one phone to another, and it lists the items it will copy. They are Contacts, Notes and Calender (I think), but no option for Texts anywhere. The PC Suite also has an option to send Texts, but doesn't show any of the texts that are stored in the Inbox of the phone.

I installled the PC Suite for the 6230i last night and it looks like that might be capable, but its whether that PC Suite will be compatible with the 7610.

if you make a back up of the phone contents it also backs up the messages, thats the forth option along with contacts notes and calender, then under the 4 tick boxes there is another box.... back up memory card details also!

do mine regular, total back up of everything including call log etc!!
