As a very rough estimate, take off a quater.

You will take home just a bit more than that though.

Unless you are talking mega money...

to work it out precisely though we will need

1. Your monthly salary.
2. Your Tax code
3. Your DOB (incase your a pensioner)

I can give you a pretty precise answer then.

ur salery take away about 4500. then take off 25% of ur new figure.

then add the 4500 back on.

devide that by 12 for ur monthly salery (take home)

im sure thats how some 1 told me once. its coz u can earn about 4500 a year with out getting taxed.

dunno if that inclues national insurance as well though

If you're under the 40% tax bracket it usually works out around 25% depending upon your tax code.

If you PM me your info, I'll work it out for you - I used to be an Accountant

Works out your pre-tax pay, how much tax and NI you should be paying, then gives you your take-home pay per week/month/year...

Dont even start me off on Stealth Tax

If you earn more than the 40% Bracket by £1000

You will pay

400 Tax
10 Aditional NI due to the 1% extra once you reach certain level

That leaves £590

Spend £100 on fuel

£30 Of that is DUTY
£17.50 is VAT
Pack of smokes another £3 to tax man
6 Pints anonther £8

then you think about your insurance costs (life house holiday car) all take anouther few %

so it works out to live you are taxed at around 80% FACT

There's one more in the middle....

You pay tax on the money you put into a pension and then they tax you on it at the end!!!!! So essentially you get shafted twice

And yet people WANT to come to the UK?!

No SHIT, and just to make you feel welcome they give you money to pass your driving test and £5000 to buy a F***ING car!!! Arghh

A friend of mine recently had some people out to look at his car and they tried to give him a government cheque or whatever and he chased them off his property in anger!

Yet, if you or I were to become sick and weren't able to work (like I was a couple of years ago) you have to wait MONTHS before you get ANYTHING even though I'd been on the higher tax banding for ten years and never claimed a penny in my whole life! WTF???
