Pete,
I was of the understanding that 4x4 ones have parallel studs that clamp in the hub knuckle (this is definitely true), whereas 2wd ones have a tapered stud and retaining nut on the top...
They are possibly a different length too (different crossmembers)..
4x4 ones are twice the price of 2wd ones, so I hope there's a difference

You're gonna bodge suspension components? Quality

4x4's are indeed different where they clamp into the hub

Wouldnt be at all suprised if they are different lengths too due to the differences in offset etc

Really?

From what I have seen, 2wd's have a tapered stub with a thread on the end that either take a Castellated nut or on cheapo ones, a nyloc nut.

My 4wd has a tapered stub again, but the actual hub pinches around the stub...

no the 2wd has no castle nut, it does on the steering nuckle, but not on the TCA.

The hub pinches it exactly the same as the 4x4 with a bolts that goes through the hub.

that's the bit I wasn't sure of - so 3-dr ones have a tapered stud and nut then?
