Stu Perhaps you can answer - if you cool the pully AND the crank, being that the crank is a different material (I think ) is there any chance that the crank may shrink more than the pulley?

I will take along to the nurburgring trip on the 9th a large steel washer, and a set of verniers and a heat gun and can of freeze spray.

With Stu as an independant witness we will freeze the large washer and measure the ID and OD of it.

Then we will heat it up, and get Stu to measure them again.

Im perfectly prepared to wager a grand on the outcome (increase in ID), which i will post a cheque to Stu for to clear into his account

HI - has anyone re-used there cambelt?
Mine has just had a new belt fitted about 500mls ago and I now have a leaking front crank seal so I need to remove the belt.

I'm looking to see if anyone has been in a similar situation please - thanks.

 

As long as the belt hasn't been contaminated by oil then it should be ok to reuse.
