Hmmmm, i did not discard that thought, but what made me think its tin foil is the fact that proper insulating sheilding is much better than that, in the sense that it hugs whatever its wrapping. It also is in strip form, not massive square bits liek that

EDIT: Isn't proper automotive reflective foil usually gold anyway?
