all you gotta do is get the clutch plate in the centre of the clutch cover

aslong as the gearbox goes on, your fine

dave if ya woried then use ya extention bar or a bit of pipe to line it up, i bought a clutch tool but lot the fooker when i needed it

used some plumbers pipe and lined it up as i dont trust my eyes

it its too small then use tape to pack it out a bit

good luck, its easy though

I always just do it by eye.

Line up the centre of the clutch in the centre of the forks and then feel around the edge to make sure you have a consistant gap all the way round.

Also got one of those tools but usually cant be bothered to use it.

i used a extension bar from a tool kit with tape round it just till it fitted it nice and snug, not to tight tho.. the thing is you cant realy be that far out cus the bolts that hold the clutch plate on arnt that tight ,so when you lift the box up to put it on , wiggle it till you can just feel the splines, once its on it has to be in the center or it wont go .. good luck mate

I used the correct tool but I bought it years ago for my old car,I wouldn't do it without the tool because if your a tiny bit out ( say you used a extension bar with some tape on the end ) it won't go on and you will have to start again and it can be a pain
