The following would make a great part of the trip IMO
Looking at the above Map follow West from Glasgow to Pailsley then Heading North(Pases Loch Lomond)
A83 From the Top of Loch Lomond then heading West takes you towards the Coast and Invarary then Lochgilphead. Sweet roads & a great driving experience.
A816 The road from Lochgilphead - Oban which pretty much follows the coast is a cracker, lots of off camber tight bends with a few interesting places along the way Crinan Canal(Image 1) The Bridge over the Atlantic (image 2) ending up in the Fishing Village of Oban(Image3)
A828 From Oban heading North towards Fort William(again costal) but wider Faster road....arrive Fort William.......... from there on your basicaly at the gateway to the Highlands, leaving you to go where ever.
A82 Leaving Fort William - Crainlarich (Glen Coe Road)A85 A84 - Stirling, for return trip. Great driving road.

Stu, bring your tools, with all the ropey old Fords going, it'll be a busmans holiday for you
Sounds like a cool idea though, almost makes me wish I had a (working) car

We have been doing this on the bikes for a few years.. the roads are awesome..
I must reccomend the 'spittle of Glen shee' in Glen shee..fantastic road leading to it, they have like a hostel set-up so they could fit about 30 people in, with sauna , very nice bar and eat as much as you like restraunt and last time we went there it was run by scandinavian birds ..
very nice and cheap too
