.....now the engine starts, etc.....

I'M SCARED SHITLESS that something will happen again!!!!

and to be honest...can't afford for something to go wrong again....

honestly thinking of now throwing in the towel!!!

engine is all done now and runs sweet....so maybe its time to say goodbye to it while its still alive and get something sensible....not sure!!!

Perfectly normal mate,it's called Cossie paranoia, and it will never leave you whilst you own one.

When you have just had an engine apart and seen how many different things could possibly go wrong i guess its normal to be more aware of that when driving it.

So sounds fairly normal to me.

Im sure a few miles under its belt will help to convince you all is well

Yup, cossie paranoia and I suffer from it well.

Still, there's always gotta be a downside

I'm sure it will be fine if it's setup correctly on a RR and the NOS kit is binned! EFI as well looking at your sig so i'm sure there won't be a problem at least it can be mapped precisely

I'd just use it and if the very worst happens, buy a second hand standard engine to make it a runner then punt it on and go for the sensible option (sensible=boring IMO though!)

Get it run in and set up properly and enjoy it, If I worried all the time about breaking mine I'd never use it. Just because I hammer the car doesn't mean I'm not worried about it. At the end of the day if it's going to happen it's going to happen. Worrying won't stop it.

I have the RS paranoia on two of the damn things as well now

in all seriousness I actually dont think that RST's are that problem prone. Infact, Id go as far too say that they are reliable Obviosly things like, alternators, starter motors etc.. these do go wrong, like on any other car.. but engine wise, Ive had no problems at all.. (touches wood)

Saying that.. im off to Jamsport tomorrow for clutch etc

Stop being a fanny and worrying yourself. Get out and enjoy the hard work you have out into it
Whilst you are running it in you shouldn't be ragging it so hopefully that'll lessen the chances of breaking something

Keith, if you're that worried, drop it off round my house, i'll do the 'running in' mileage for you and you can have it back at the weekend all set to take the abuse you gave it before it went bang
