WTF???????? cancelled a credit card and there still.....
fookin assholes i cancelled a card a few months back, i recived the letter telling them that it was terminated
ie no credit agreement etc is contracted betweeen ourselves
now 2 months later i recieve a statement from them with 15.99 from aol on it!!! well after the termination date, i call them ask what the fuck and they say its because i never told aol cancelled so aol can keep taking money from my account
how the fuck is that possible when no fookin account excists in the first place
my thinking is fuck em, i have no legal obligation to pay and they cannot penalise me
or am i wrong?
ps another statement came today with another aol bill, so thats 30 odd quid now
i didnt pay last months and they havent added late payment charges etc so obviously they cant
anyone in the know suggest somin??

I'm afraid that a continuous authority on a credit card can't be cancelled by the card issuer - that is entirely your responsibility and the card company is 100% entitled to pass the charge to you, along with any interest or late payment charges allowed for in your original agreement if you don't do so or even if you do but the recipient continues to charge them.
1) Contact AOL and switch to another payment method or cancel your account. Then confirm it in writing, and keep a copy. If you have already them asked them to change your payment method or cancelled the account with them, ask if they will reimburse you (especially if you have closed their account).
2) Pay the credit card company. This isn't their fault.

credit cards
This sounds like a capital one trick, what they are good at doing is when you cancel your card thay won't cancel it if any money is outstanding on the card, so they accept your card cancellation and then wack 1 penny interest on it, you don't pay the penny because you are unaware then they hit you with a £20 late payment charge!!!!! you then pay this and tell them to cancel it again and they wack the interest from the £20 on your card and so the process continues!!!
it took me 4 months and a lot of phone calls to cancel wife's card
