matt had a problem with his

the struts cant be wrong... there are only 2 types for the sierra, and the only difference is the bush size onthe bottom where it bolt onto the hub.

you're going to need different ofset wheels or some spacers i'm afraid.

or run the car at a height where the spring platform is higher than the wheel...

i run esccos rims on a 2wd and have zero problems

how can it be a gaz issue the shox fit PERFECTLY on the car, it's the WHEELS that dont fit

it's an ofset/space issue end of...

i forgot the other option... run smaller springs... (or does it hit the spring platform?)

4x4's have a totaly different set-up at the front with different hubs etc so no point comparing the two!
What length springs are you using on the front? A shorter spring will raise the platform and get it away from the rim!

the rim is catching the platform fookinhell what the fook ofset have you got what are they, 10j or something sure you havent got any knackered bushes?

and you must be running the platforms VERY low for them to be near the rim anyway... you want them to be more in the middle of the tyre or it'll look like a "saxo slammed on 20s"

i agree with spadge, theyre more suited to F1 style cars, not a car thats ever going to see a UK road or speed bump

i already told u :P

the bush at the bottom where it bolts to the hub is a different size :P

that's IT...

it's the different suspension arangement (hubs, TCAs etc, causing different offset) that spadge is talking about... not the shock absorbers themselves.

cossiecrew, this is how low my car is:

hardly a monster truck (ps bad picture, car looks shit )

i had this using bilstien coil overs. 17inch et 35 by 8 wheels cured it by fitting 9 inch springs.

It's not hard is it!

I'll even supply a link for you to browse at leisure and decide which springs you want.

Not all cars use the same length spring. It's not a design fault because for all they know you might be fitting them on a track car or rally with an ET15 offset or something stupid. It also depends on the ride height required.

Obviously Gaz weren't expecting you top run 18s on a Sierra . I think if you measure the length of the AVO springs, you will soon realise why they fit.... .

The AVO ones are 9'' long Mike, Does this mean i need 9'' and not 8'' or will 8 '' be fine?

i had the same problem with the gaz shocks on my car, if i ran 2wd offset i had to use huge spacers to clear the shocks- ended up changing the wheels

Gaz are wank because they had no way of knowing you were going to fit them to a car that had 18" wheels with an offset that caused the tyre to catch the spring platform?
