S8 Stage 3 map
Just had someone PM'ing me asking me for a S8 stage 3 map, which sadly im unable to cough up as i dont have one yet myself (as i havent even started mapping mine)
I remember in the thread the other day that some people had something along those lines but cant remember who?
Simon has a very basic map, but TBH you can tell by looking its just a guestimate and it was supplied with lots of warnings, so i dont want to pass that one on as i dont believe it will really work very well.
So i was just wondering if anyone who actually has a stage 3 S8 car felt like sharing their map so that i could pass it on.
Not sure why the person didnt post themselves, so dont know if they want to be named or not, so i will keep it secret for now and see if they are happy to join in the post or not!

I spoke to Karl, as i would like it up and running and i know he can do it very quickly as obivously (unlike me as im not used to tuning cossie engines) he has base maps sat there to work from, so would have it close without even starting to tune it, but he doesnt want to map it and then leave the map unlocked for me to edit in the future, so its no use to me as obviously i want to continue to map it myself as i make changes not have to keep going back to Karl cause he has locked the map.
I fully understand why he wants to "maintain the copyright" but it means that sadly i cant get him to get the ball rolling for me like i would have liked to
Shame, cause im sure he would do a good job if he had been prepared to, and im quite happy to pay 300 quid if it gets the car on the road a few weeks sooner!

Shame Karl wont, cause i could have been in the NMS crew with you Dingy!
Might have a word with MAD and MSD (although they are a lot further to go, hence talking to Karl first) but i suspect they will say the same thing, that because i need the map to stay unlocked so that i can develop it myself in future as i change bits that they wont want to do it.

Chip, people mainly buy the S8 ecu's cause they want big power/8 injectors/large injectors/ALS etc..
So near perfect stage 3 maps are rare as this can be done by an of the shelf chip for factory ecu's.
I will supply maps where and when I can and yes, my stage 3 IS basic but it will start the car and let you drive it reasonable safely.
I do however, have a good selection of big power dynoed/road tested maps but these are only
any good if used on the EXACT same state of tune/build engine.

Simon, fair enough, perhaps i will just start with that one then and go from there if you reckon its a good safe option, its certainly easier than starting with a blank screen and working out guesses based on flow rates etc.
Fuelling i can sort in no time at all anyway, so its just the ignition i will need to spend a bit of time on, but thats not the end of the world.
If you have a couple of other maps you could send me though along with details of the spec they are for, it would be good for educational purposes as it all builds my familiarity with a new engine that im not used to!

Stu and MAD dont map S8 so wont help you.
Phone SCS i am sure Harvey will sell you an S8 file or Jullian Godfrey Engineering.
Wether they will lock them is a different matter though.......you only gotta ask.
Personally i'd use the S8 as a missile to put thru Simons window or body if you can catch him

Cheers for the tip Phil with SCS, but i think im pretty much decided on just doing it from scratch now anyway, especially if its got the basics to fire up and run on Simons map, as thats actually a very large part of the battle.
