I agreed with Mikes requirements too for teh record...

Youve got to be in it to win it... but youve got to be in with a chance to win it to be in it...

Now say that ten times really fast

I think I would like to see both Martin's and Rod's car run, that would be enough for me!

I also think if it's along the lines of a Escort Cosworth it is an Escort Cosworth, this Milton block not being a Cosworth bullsh!t, what is that based on and configured for?! It certainly isn't a straight six with the Escorts bonnet extended to fit it in

ultimately to get a Cosworth anywhere near that lot would be a mental achievement, and Martin or whoever would probably want to get a job with a works rally team or Williams F1 or something if he managed it

For me though TOTB is loosing it's appeal, I mean menthanol cars? running on non road suitable tyres isn't in the spirit of the event....people are building one off event drag racing specials just to win that. I want to see custom cars that could very well find floating about on a road somewhere giving it large stopping at regular petrol stations..... imo

why? if a 2litre scooby with no nitrous, road suitable tyres, a GT35 turbo, and glass/metal all round can run 9s, why so hard for a cossie

if you actually went to the event youd realise 95% of the cars are totally road useable barring running race gas (multiple ECU maps for different fuel is common on everything, even cossies), and every single one of them would need a change if wheels at MOST to be road drivable cars...

Because a Scoob is being developed up to this day and is based on mid 90's design, unlike the Cossie which it's technology & design is probably 20 years old now....taking nothing away from it, bloody amasing they can still get close!!!!

your slightly different to me, you like to see this stuff running at the absolute limit, on the ragged edge, but can you honestly put your hand on your heart and say the top cars, running that boost, will do more than 5000miles before their engines will have to be rebuilt? That's not a road car to me...........don't get me wrong it's impressive, but still, more like drag racing. It's a bit like the pro legal drag cars, their road legal but you'd be unlikely to see one in normal circumstances on the road....their engines are probably measured in hours!

I have been actually, 1st, 2nd and 3rd year and it is getting more and more motorsport orientated which put me off going again. I'd make them run one set of tyres for a whole meeting which aren't custom road legal drag radials which you could do more than 1000miles on the road with.......Come on, changing tyres for the handling and drag racing, that's not very run what ya brung road legal, unless that's your usual routine when out and about......

Personal preference......but i'm not the only one who thinking that it's moving away from the original idea......

To be honest i thought is was a crap day and the organisers need bringing to account where did all the money go that they make from this event .The toilets were pants as usual they were in good condition but they need a lot more of them .The spectating was crap you could not see anything the tiered seating was ok but they need another ten of them viewing the handing circuit was crap as well you could only see cars from great distance and had no perspective of how fast they were going .And i think the general idea has gone adrift i thought the general idea was to run your road car against others ie should have four seats all seat belts etc.but now it seems like thinly disguised drag cars imported from japan with very dubious tyres they looked like hoosier drag tyres etc to me i might as well gone to pod and watched proper drag cars .To be fair the car that noprmally wins rocket ronnies skyline looks like a proper road car where as k cowies skyline does not this is my opinion anyway.lets hope next year it returns back to its original format
