What do you think of Audi S3's

just finding my feet
sassy they aint anything like a RS, there have no high unexplained problems that cause ya to have loads of cash spent on em and PLUS the have air con, low road noise and are better looking
there not a car any ford fan will like,,,,,, oh and ya wont have the same rust problems come MOT time either
what kind of a person buys a car like that
nice nice cars and great for long distance my old mans mate claims, but he also drives slow so duno if hes word is worth anything

well ive been looking at them and A3 1.8 turbo sports, But the price difference is huge now compared to what they used to be, the S3's seem to go for 10-15k and the A3's go for 4-7k but in like them both, they both have air con climate control etc!
I know that obviously the S3 is a lot newer car but I just dunno what would be the better buy for my money

I would take the 1.8 T sport. A quick trip to JabbaSport and you've got a 200bhp motor. Mate has a T sport A4 with their conversion and it nailed my mates Paxo VTS. S3 is a cracking little car but the extra several thousand quid I would rather save a packet and spen a few quid tweeking the lesser car

yeah thats what im thinking, the idea was to sell the 3dr and get something SENSIBLE
But................ i dont want anything To slow or ugly, so i thought the Audi would be a perfect family car
The more i think about it the more im thinking A3 for now, and then upgrade later.
I'll still have the fez turbo, saff and escos (when its finished) to drive as i wish, but i want a reliable car for family stuff!

I know I'm getting shot now but my A4 has been pretty good and despite only having the wimpiest 1600cc engine has done well. Rachel just got bored and wanted a FRST and the current funds meant it was either or not both. In all honesty as much as I take the piss I will miss it

My A4 has just turned 120k miles and it still drives tight and feels nice. The only indication of the miles is the wear on the steering wheel. Everything else is spot on

Could always buy mine but I can hardly describe it as never raced or rallied as I've been known on the odd ( ) occasion to practice heal and toe in it

Here's some pics. Sorry it isn't clean at the mo but it's been used for the stable run.
Header tank looks a mess due to a headgasket failure. All put right with receipts just needs the tank cleaning but I've not got round to it yet. It has 12 months MOT (failed on two tyres and a cracked windscreen, have fail sheet). I have added a set of Pi loweing springs and the 17" RS4 replica alloys. Also has a custom stainless back box (not noisy) and a K&N panel in a drilled airbox. New discs and pads on the front 6 months ago. Comes with Pioneer headunit and 6 disc changer with steering wheel remote. PM me if you have any questions and feel free to have a look no obligation. After about Ł3400 for it.

My m8's got an Audi S3, got more toy's then the enterprise, struggles agains my RS Turbo, got some quattro system on it which diverts the power between the wheels apparantly. Had the back end out more then once
Not the best way of spending 20K i'm afraid

Sassy,
Go for the one at croft motors
I bought one form alex last week traded in my M3 and best decision yet.
The S3 is so much more......................
The interior is lovely recaro's (i have half blue alacantra) air-con, xeons and mine is re-mapped so does not hang around.
The best bit is it handles sooooooooo well.
My brother also got a yellow S3 and again he came out of a 400+ saff cossie, and he preffers the S3!!!!!!!! Not saying he dont miss the power, but all the other bits add up to a more enjoyable drive.
Just cleaned.
I just need 18's now.
Thanks
Nick

I was so tempted to pay a bit more and go for it.
And mileage dont matter on them engines as long as they have been looked after
